WBENC Approved as SBA Third-Party Certifier

September 15, 2011

The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) has been approved as a third-party certifier by the Small Business Administration (SBA). The Council will determine Women Owned Small Business eligibility for the SBA’s Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contracting Program.

WBENC, a leading advocate for and authority on Women Business Enterprise (WBE), is one of four third-party certifiers in the country.  Its certification is accepted by more than 1,000 corporations that represent some of the nation’s most respected brands.

Anderson Interiors was awarded WBENC certification earlier this year, a detailed and exacting process that confirms it is at least 51% owned and managed by one or more women who demonstrate industry expertise. A woman must also hold the highest ranking office. The process includes an in-depth analysis of the business and its management as well as a comprehensive site visit.

Anderson Interiors has been a certified Women Business Enterprise  (WBE) since 2005.

International Women’s Day Centenary 1911 – 2011

March 10, 2011

Each year on March 8th, millions around the world observe International Women’s Day.  Events marking the celebration are staged throughout the month of March, noting the achievements of women everywhere. This year in the U.S. over 200 events are scheduled nationwide.  The U.S. also designates March as Women’s History Month.

Historically, International Women’s Day was dedicated to bringing attention to negatives but in recent years that has shifted, focusing instead on achievement, promise, and possibility.

As a certified Women Business Enterprise, we salute the advances women have made in business and we welcome the opportunity to recognize, applaud, and participate in the pursuit of excellence.
